This is one of the rivers of lava we encountered once we summited Mt. Pacaya---there were no guides or officials there to make sure everyone kept a safe distance. Climbing around was difficult because of the rocky and shifting terrain. This photo was not taken using a zoom---I have no hair on my right arm now!
